MISSION
Leadership Oklahoma City’s mission is to develop leaders.
VISION
Leadership Oklahoma City’s vision is for its members to become the most effective forces of positive change in our community.
Leadership Oklahoma City develops leaders for civic service.
The strategies by which Leadership Oklahoma City advances the mission are:
Educating about the community’s needs, resources, and opportunities;
Training in skills necessary for effective community leadership; and
Connecting people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives with a common interest in community improvement.
The Signature Program is a 10-month-long series of classes, each focusing on a different community issue. A diverse mix of class members complete the program as a group, becoming resources for each other as they learn about community issues. Class members are selected to represent a broad range of occupations and backgrounds.
The LOYAL Program, which targets young adults just beginning their civic lives, is a series of short programs teaching leadership skills for volunteers. LOYAL class members also participate in a community project which encourages them to practice the skills they are learning in class.
YLX, or the Youth Leadership Exchange, is the high-school-age programming arm of Leadership Oklahoma City, Inc. YLX programs are school-year-long classes that meet one day a month. The classes are designed to teach the participants how to be better community leaders through volunteer service.
